Temple Beth Or members believe very strongly in the value of Talmud Torah, Jewish learning. We feature an outstanding tuition free Religious School for children of members 6 to 13, staffed by experienced and extremely competent teachers; and we have Hebrew Junior High and High School programs for young people past the age of Bar and Bat Mitzvah. No child has ever been turned away from receiving a religious education. For adults, we have an active Adult Jewish Learning program, with some morning and some evening classes. In recent years, we have had film festivals, guest lecturers, Shabbat Lunch & Learns, and classes devoted to the Bible, Jewish History, and other subjects and issues.

Observing Life’s Milestones
has always emphasized close family ties and a communal sharing of simchas and sorrows. It is a tradition in Judaism to celebrate life passages religiously. Rabbi Rubin can assist you in this regard. Temple Beth Or’s facilities are available for the religious and social activities of its congregation members.
are administrated by a highly qualified and dedicated staff. The United Synagogue Youth (USY, for high school age students) and Kadima (6th, 7th, and 8th graders) participate in local, regional and international activities. We also have El AL (a group for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders) which provides local events for these younger students. The children are encouraged to learn, to love and to understand their heritage.
Please contact Ross Bernstein our Youth Leader for more information by e-mail: Temple.Beth.Or.Youth@gmail.com OR call the Temple Office.
Temple Beth Or is very proud of its educational program. We feature a full religious school through High School. Pre-Aleph meets once per week, Aleph through Hey twice weekly while the Hebrew High School meets as scheduled.
The Religious School curriculum has a strong emphasis on Hebrew language reading, prayer, Jewish Holidays and Rituals, Jewish History, and Bible. Some activities and projects involve students from various grade levels together.
During the year we have Youth/Religious School Services where children participate in Shabbat services. Parents and siblings are also encouraged to attend.

Temple Beth Or runs a weekly Bingo game. The Bingo game is open to the community and raises much needed funds for the Temple which allows us to keep our annual dues low. Congregants are asked to donate their time to run the game working as callers, runners, ticket sellers, etc. The Sisterhood also staffs the kitchen where sandwiches, drinks, pretzels, knishes, and candy are sold.
