Observing Life’s Milestones

 simcha      Jewish Tradition

has always emphasized close family ties and a communal sharing of simchas and sorrows. It is a tradition in Judaism to celebrate life passages religiously.  Rabbi Rubin can assist you in this regard. Temple Beth Or’s facilities are available for the religious and social activities of its congregation members.

USY-KAdima ImageTemple Beth Or’s Youth           We are pleased to announce that for the benefit of our youth, we have joined our United Synagogue  groups with the United Synagogue youth groups of Congregation B’nai Israel of Toms River.  Kadima is open to all youth in grades 6-8 and USY is open to youth in grades 9-12.  These newly combined groups have welcomed Jason Krane as the youth advisor.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and participate in both Judaic and social events,  locally, regionally as well as internationally with other Jewish youth throughout New Jersey and to make lasting friendships.

Please contact the Temple Office at (732) 458-4700 for more information.

Hebrew School Image  RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

Temple Beth Or is very proud of its educational program.  We feature a full religious school through High School.  Pre-Aleph meets once per week, Aleph through Hey twice weekly while the Hebrew High School meets as scheduled.

The Religious School curriculum has a strong emphasis on Hebrew language reading, prayer, Jewish Holidays and Rituals, Jewish History, and Bible.  Some activities and projects involve students from various grade levels together.

During the year we have Youth/Religious School Services where children participate in Shabbat services.  Parents and siblings are also encouraged to attend.

For more information call 732-458-4700 or e-mail Rabbi Robert Rubin: RBobRubin@gmail.com.

Classes are offered during the week by Rabbi Rubin and Rabbi Fierstein.  In addition, there are Shabbat Lunch and Learn sessions following Shabbat morning services.  Other opportunities are scheduled throughout the year.

Bingo Bingo

Temple Beth Or runs a weekly Bingo game.  The Bingo game is  open to the community and raises much needed funds for the Temple which allows us to keep our annual dues low.  Congregants are asked to donate their time to run the game working as callers, runners, ticket sellers, etc. The Sisterhood also staffs the kitchen where sandwiches, drinks, pretzels, knishes, and candy are sold.
